Children of the World is a licensed child-placing agency in the State of Alabama. We are approved to perform international and domestic home studies and post-placement supervision for families residing in the State of Alabama.

Even though our main office is located in Fairhope, we employ a staff of social workers throughout the state. We will work closely with your placing agency and State of Alabama Adoption Office to make sure that your home study is done efficiently and according to federal, state, and your adoption country’s guidelines. Our state is quite unique in the way it processes all adoptions for Alabama residence, and our staff provides you and your agency with necessary advice, information, and direction in achieving your home study goals. We understand how important the timely completion of your documents are to you and your adoption process. We rarely have backlogs for our home study and/or post-placement service. Once your documents are submitted to our office the general processing time for visits and completed reports is 4 to 6 weeks. Post-placement services can be arranged on much shorter notice.
